About

We’re here to provide support for people living with disability, young people experiencing homelessness or other forms of disadvantage, and their families and carers. Across our wide range of services, we always respond with experience, flexibility and care.

We work closely with State and Commonwealth government departments, local councils and our other service providers, always ensuring our own culture of client, community and family-centred programs drives our agenda. This means we respond to individual needs by working with people creatively and constructively. People’s aspirations and life goals inspire all the work we do.

Many of our services are offered as part of programs funded through the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). With the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), MOIRA offers additional services for people as part of their plan, as well as people interested in using our services on an individual fee-for-service basis tailored to their requirements.

MOIRA is an incorporated association and accredited under DHHS quality standards. We are also registered as a service provider for the NDIS and with the Commonwealth Government for the delivery of both Aged Care and Children’s Services.

MOIRA is a registered National Disability Services (NDS) member. Australia’s peak body for non-government disability service organisations.

Our vision is to enable all people, regardless of ability and circumstance, to live independent, fulfilling lives™ within their chosen community.

To help us realise our vision, we are guided by our four values:

  • providing outcomes-based services that customers find valuable

  • having a trustworthy, person-centred approach to service development and delivery

  • being engaging and dignified in our dealings with all persons and organisations

  • taking every opportunity to learn from our customers
  • Quality certified to Department of Health and Human Services, Victoria (DHHS) Standards
  • DHHS-registered provider of disability services
  • Certified under the Children’s Services Act
  • An accredited Home and Community Care (HACC) provider
  • Registered provider of services, including plan management, for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • ACNC registered charity
Meet the MOIRA Board

MOIRA is a White Ribbon accreditated workplace and proud supporter of the White Ribbon campaign. We believe that violence against women and girls is a major problem in our community.

At MOIRA we genuinely celebrate diversity in all its forms. We believe that diversity of race, religion, gender and sexual orientation contribute a richness to our values and culture. We encourage LGBTIQA+ staff, volunteers and service users to ‘bring their whole selves’ to MOIRA.

MOIRA is committed to promoting and protecting the interests and safety of children and young people. We have a zero tolerance policy for child abuse and clear procedures in place for reporting and responding to any incidents of abuse. All MOIRA team members are responsible for the care and protection of children and young people.
