Relax and find calm with Mindful Movement, also known as Qigong, with mindfulness expert Anja Tanhane.


Qigong, which means ‘breath work’, is an ancient practice that combines movement, meditation, and breathing. It’s been shown to benefit physical and mental wellbeing, including reducing stress and anxiety.


Fully embrace the benefits of Qigong in this free online four-week series. You’ll be guided through easy-to-follow movements to relax the body and calm the mind, and learn simple tips for including more mindfulness into your day. It’s slow, low impact and great for all levels of fitness.

Join Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher, Anja Tanhane, for gentle mindful movement and guided relaxation meditation. Over four weeks connect to your mind and body through grounding movements and intentions as Anja takes you through beginner-friendly Qigong routines. No special equipment required! You can give it a go standing or sitting in a chair from the comfort of your home.

This session is designed for people under 65 (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people under 50) living with a chronic health or mental health condition or experiencing isolation. If you are over the age limit and would like to participate, please contact us.

Anja Tanhane (MMus, Therapy) is a qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher, Tai Chi instructor, and registered music therapist. 

A meditation and Tai Chi practitioner for over thirty years, she regularly teaches the MBSR course and facilitates mindfulness nature retreats and meditation workshops throughout the year. Anja has provided workplace training in mindfulness and self-care to a wide range of community health and service providers, the corporate sector, hospitals, carer groups, and the Federal Court of Australia, has lectured in music and mindfulness at the University of Melbourne, and has presented her work at national and international conferences and forums.
