Additional online wellbeing supports for MOIRA carers during COVID-19 and beyond.

The pandemic and its impact are ongoing, and so to will MOIRA’s support.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the carers we work alongside MOIRA launched a new series of free, online wellbeing supports in June under the banner ‘Talk, Learn and Connect’.

A common theme among MOIRA’s community of carers, including those within NDIS Financial Plan Management, has been the challenges many have experienced due to current restrictions and safety measures. Understandably, unique complications encountered within caring roles have led many to comment on increased levels of anxiety and stress.

The response to our initial 6 week courses, has been phenomenal and demonstrated how valuable MOIRA’s contribution to the community can be.
95% of the carers that took part in one or more of the classes found them to have a lasting, positive impact on their health and wellbeing.

The classes have enabled me to slow down and enjoy life much more, also to not be so hard on myself when I feel I could have done something better.’
– Lea

The COVID-19 pandemic and its impact are ongoing, particularly for the families we work with in Victoria, and so too, will MOIRA’s support.
With great pleasure, we can announce that a further series of wellbeing classes begins next week.

Listening to the valuable feedback and learning from June/July activities, we are thrilled to deliver a further set of 4 week classes. Extra days and alternative times have been released to help accommodate carers busy schedules.
