Last week we introduced MOIRA TLC (Talk, Learn and Connect), a range of exclusive supports and wellbeing opportunities for MOIRA’s community of parents/carers of people living with disability.MOIRA TLC will now also include a new Carer Assistance Program – a free phone counselling service for carers.
We have been listening to the feedback of our community and challenges the COVID-19 pandemic has raised. Many carers expressed experiencing significant impact as a result of the pandemic and have been prioritised for access to the Carer Assistance Program, beginning 6 July 2020. Phone counselling will be facilitated by Prag Consulting, a highly renowned clinical and behaviour support provider in the Disability and NDIS sector.
MOIRA has engaged the skills of Prag Consulting to provide free short-term, over-the-phone consultation services to help the disability carers we work alongside. Between now and October this extension of the MOIRA TLC supports will help those in need identify specific challenges and supports to deal effectively with individual needs.
Free phone counselling for carers will be facilitated by:
Prag Consulting’s principal psychologist with a career spanning over twenty-five years, from public mental health and government and non-government disability services, to organisational consulting and teaching.
Over 20 years’ experience in the disability sector within a variety of organisations including the Victorian Government as an Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner. Stacey has extensive experience in working therapeutically with families challenged with complex behaviours of adults and children they care for.
A senior associate of Prag Consulting who has worked in the disability sector for a number of years including as a Behavioural Consultant and leading Positive Behaviour Support Programs.
As with all MOIRA services, this latest initiative is guided by experts and MOIRA’s vision for all people to lead rewarding lives as valued members of society.
Both the new free phone counselling service for carers and the full range of MOIRA TLC online supports are available exclusively to participants of MOIRA’s NDIS service Financial Plan Management, MOIRA FI (Financial Intermediary) and CoS (Continuity of Support) participants, and our carer support networks.
