Hatha Yoga

MOIRA’s community of carers are invited to take part in a four week Hatha Yoga program with certified yoga teacher Gillian Fernandes.

Enrolment is free and classes will be conducted online via Zoom video conferencing. No special equipment or experience is necessary.

Join fellow carers of individuals living with disability as we progress through a program exploring simple breathing, yoga poses, and meditation techniques to support your wellbeing.

Please see below for more information on the class facilitator and what to expect.

To best support carers’ busy schedule there are two class times available.
Tuesday – 3:00pm – 4:00pm AEST (25/8/20 – 15/9/20)
Friday – 11:00am – 12:00pm AEST (28/8/20 – 18/9/20)

Hatha Yoga is the branch of yoga that typically comes to mind when you think of yoga in general terms. The practice involves breath, body, and mind.
Because of its slower pace, Hatha Yoga is perfect for beginners interested in exploring the wellbeing effectiveness of  practising yoga.

By the end of this four-week yoga and relaxation journey you will notice more flexibility, discover the full range of your movements, and enjoy increased awareness and space in the body.
Each week will follow a theme and practice postures with ease and joy:

Week 1 – Stretch
Week 2 – Grow
Week 3 – Nurture
Week 4 – Savour
